Last stop...Charleston. Actually, it was also my first stop. Arrived late after a fantastic time in Jacksonville. I stayed in Mt. Pleasant again. I didn't get to spend a lot of time in Charleston this time, but I did get over to Sullivan's Island. I love it there.

There are so many great little restaurants. I ate at my favorite, Poe's Tavern. Poe's Tavern is named after Edgar Allen Poe. I sat outside; however, everywhere you look inside there are paintings and writings by Poe. After eating at Poe's Tavern, I went to the beach and got an ice cream at another favorite, Republic Ice Cream. The ice cream is out of this world!

Driving back home, I loved following all of billboards along Interstate 95, especially the ones leading up to South of the Border. Billboards represent to me Americana nostalgia.

After a ten hour drive, I was greeted by millions of cicadas. Hmmmm. maybe I should turn around!!!

It was a fantastic road trip and one I made memories and learned so much that will last a lifetime!
